Opinion: The flaws in Di Marzio’s Fulham-Rodrigo Muniz transfer narrative

Di Marzio, in the last week, has unfortunately been gracing my Twitter timeline with constant misinformation about the Rodrigo Muniz situation.

This is increasingly frustrating, as while Atalanta do feel confident they can agree a deal, we as fans, who of course are not involved with these negotiations, are left to ponder over these blatantly misleading tweets by an Italian journalist in a foreign country, who has a vested interest in Muniz leaving.

This social media stirring is so annoying in modern football, and I would put it down to the involvement of agents consistently trying to get the best deal for their player.

And with social media being the face of football transfer news now, agents resort to creating panic and anger within fan bases to make the club’s position look weaker.

However, Fulham clearly have stated they have no intention of selling Muniz and are gonna hold out in case a club record price comes around.

Additionally, Di Marzio has incredibly poor reporting accuracy outside of Italy, and he is simply trying to rattle all parties involved in this ‘saga’.

Advice to the Cottagers’ fans – do not listen to Di Marzio, he is as reliable as Aboubakar Kamara at taking penalties.

So message to Fulham fans – relax and enjoy Di Marzio making a fool of himself.
