Does Fulham really need reinforcements after the Brighton game?
This is clearly a provocative stance, but let us see what happens if Fulham finds themselves in a worst-case scenario and they don’t buy any players.
Our reinforcements could come from within!
Within our existing squad!
Ryan Sessegnon playing a full season without an injury could be a massive reinforcement and offer lots of options to Marco Silva with an additional full–back or left midfielder. His 2024-2025 end-of-season was impressive with decisive goals and a big impact both offensively and defensively. If he can continue on this trend, we will have a massive reinforcement.
Harry Wilson: Harry is coming back from a big injury and is now fully operational. If he can avoid injuries, we would get another offensive option, giving a big headache to Marco Silva to pick his offensive options.
Antonee Robinson: our super full-back played injured most of the previous season. Let’s give him time to come back at 100% and our left side fullback position will be covered.
Kenny Tete missed part of the 2024-2025 season due to his knee injury so if we can have King Kenny fit all the time well, that would be quite a reinforcement.
Timothy Castagne was injured at the end of last season. Now he is fully operational and brings additional options.
The common point to all these internal reinforcements is that if we can manage avoiding injuries, we should be onto something…
And of course, not selling Muniz would in itself be a reinforcement.
From our youth teams!
Josh King: We already saw glimpses of what he could do at the end of last season but the game against Brighton has confirmed all the potential he has. And he comes from our youth academy, so it is a consecration for Fulham’s youth development team.
Martial Godo: We saw a bit of him last year. He made a nice impact when he came on the pitch with some nice explosiveness. A player who brings more offensive options for Fulham. A hidden option!
From last year’s recruits!
Emile Smith Rowe is a great player who can bring madness to the table. We saw glimpses of that last year. I am sure this year he will show us even more of his talent and his goal-scoring abilities.
Joachim Andersen is our Danish warrior with great long passing abilities, but I am expecting from him.
Sander Berge did very well last year, so the only thing I would ask is that he scores some goals.
From an easy transfer for a player whom we know well!
Reiss Nelson: he is explosive, agile, technical and has good finishing. When he had the ball, we could sense that he was bringing unpredictability to the table, and he was combining well on the left side. A dashing winger who would bring in some nice Arsenal connections with Emile Smith Rowe. If not injured, we know that he would be a massive contributor.
Our transfer targets should bring us some unpredictability, creativity and madness on the pitch. Kevin fits this description nicely!
Come on, Fulham!
