Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira to sign for Palmeiras

Brazilian club Palmeiras are looking to sign Fulham’s attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira for a reported fee of 10 million euros.

The Samba side have been in pursuit of the Whites player for some time, and it seems they will finally be getting their man. Pereira has been a key part of Marco Silva’s midfield during his time at the club since signing from Manchester United back in the summer of 2022 for £10 million.

Pereira has played 119 games, scoring 10 goals and assisting 19 during his time at the Cottagers.

The player’s contract runs until the end of this season, and he has rejected renewal offers from the London club, who are keen to secure a fee for the player, who could otherwise leave on a free transfer. Manchester United did retain a 20 percent sell-on fee as part of the deal when the midfielder was sold to Fulham.

Palmerias did try to sign the Fulham player last summer, but the London club reiterated at the time that he was not for sale. There has been interest elsewhere, Marseille were believed to be keen, but the Midfielder would prefer a move back to his native Brazil.

He was left out of Fulham’s squad on Sunday as they faced his Previous Club, Man Utd, the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

Marco Silva on leaving Pereira out: “Andreas has been a very important player for us; this afternoon, he is not involved. I don’t know what is going to happen before the end of the window.”

It certainly seems like we have seen Pereira for the last time playing by the River Thames.

Thank you, Andreas, best of luck in the future.
