Is Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz on his way out?
Gazzetta dello Sport have made a bold claim that Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz asked to remain out of the Fulham vs Frankfurt pre-season friendly over the weekend, as Atalanta have eyed an audacious move for the Cottagers’ no.9.
The deal is said to be a reported £40 million, with Rodrigo clearly frustrated at the lack of a new contract being sorted by the club.
Muniz is, of course, such a young age and in my eyes will go from strength to strength under Marco Silva, which is why it is leaving fans increasingly frustrated that the Brazilian has not been sorted sooner.
Fulham, as of now, have still yet to sign an outfield player this window, and fans are rightly disheartened at the reality of potentially losing one of our bright prospects in attack.
However, the Cottagers still have 1 year + 1 year extension on Muniz, therefore we as a club still hold most of the power. However, we do not want a situation like Newcastle, where our star striker is causing havoc and refusing to train and play.
Overall, the likelihood of Muniz leaving is slim at this stage, but it is still incredibly unsettling if he did ask to be removed from the pre-season friendly.
[…] This is increasingly frustrating, as while Atalanta do feel confident they can agree a deal, we as fans, who of course are not involved with these negotiations, are left to ponder over these blatantly misleading tweets by an Italian journalist in a foreign country, who has a vested interest in Muniz leaving. […] No outfield players in, and a number of reports that our mighty Rodrigo Muniz may leave. […]
