Brighton vs. Fulham (1-1): Feedback from the game
So how was Fulham yesterday?
The revelation: Josh King. What a game from our homegrown talent! Aggressiveness added to technic and mastery of the ball under pressure, good forward passing, nice positioning in the opponent’s box.
He withheld the physicality which was imposed by Brighton. He brought about some great creativity and some unpredictability.
The confirmations: Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey. Alex has a great vision with two fantastic passes in the box, both for Josh King.
He brings some nice offensive movements and combinations on the left side. His technique enables us to keep possession and buys us time to regroup when we are under pressure. Alex has been a massive contributor to Fulham since his arrival from Everton.
Calvin brought lots of energy and physicality in defence. His intensity on the left side of the defence was decisive and brought us lots of additional defensive options with his ability to play as a full back.
His sole weakness for the time being is knowing when to let go of the ball once he gets it back. Calvin has been on a continuous improvement trend since joining us.
Alex and Calvin are also two fantastic people after the games as they are always available for the fans.
The fighter: Harry Wilson gave everything on the pitch and got fouled an impressive number of times, and just kept going after it. Our Welsh magician is a factor X player who never gives up.
The solid: Kenny Tete did some nice defensive moves, which were decisive. The next step is to get some finishing in and maybe avoid the sole bad pass he did. Kenny the king blocked his side very well!
MORE: Bench Muniz proves his worth again, so why would Fulham even consider cashing in?
How were our defensive midfielders?
Sander Berge and Sasha Lukic did the job. But to be picky, I would have liked Sander to have fouled Brighton’s striker before he entered the penalty box, and Sasha could have taken his free kick a bit better in the second half, as it was nicely placed.
How was our defence?
Bernd Leno was solid, and the referee was slow to whistle a foul on him. Joachim Andersen and Cuenca did the job, but appeared sometimes slow, and some of the passing could have been a bit better, but in general a solid game.
How was our centre forward?
Raul brought in his grit and made some nice defensive efforts. Keep it going, Raul!

How did our substitutes perform?
Well, Muniz was clearly decisive, and he clearly showed his love for the club. Muniz needs to stay! The next step for him is to contribute the same way when he is in the starting eleven. Thank you, Muniz, for your equaliser.
Emile Smith Rowe showed his technic and his ability to accelerate the game. If he can do that at each game, we know that he will be back at his best.
Adama brought his physicality and power to the side and was very useful in bringing in some additional danger. Keep it going, Adama!
Tom Cairney did some good passing while Timothée Castagne did the job.
In general, Fulham had some good, strong moments but were not able to sustain them during the whole game, which coincided with Brighton’s good moments. Fulham has shown some glimpses of good playing now, let’s try to do it during the whole game.
What about the referee? Well, clearly we deserved a penalty on the foul made on Josh King in the box, and I thought that the yellow cards for Fulham came on smaller fouls than those that Brighton did…
Come on, Fulham!
